Business Process Management

Processes, like people, need to maintain fitness.

Business Process Management

Business Process Management

For most organizations today, business processes are in a sad state. The essential nature of IT and business alignment continues to be a coffee table topics for modern day CIOs. However, achieving that balance is often easier said than done. Part of the challenge is the growing complexity and interdependencies of business processes. Processes are fragmented across isolated functional departments and are plagued by numerous organizational handoffs like non-value added work, invariable delays, errors and inflexibility. This results in:

  • People involved in the process not understanding the process from end-to-end.
  • Processes or sub-processes are invisible, unmeasured, and unmanaged.
  • No one with clearly identified accountability or management responsibility for end-to-end results.
  • Different business units or departments viewing each other with suspicion.

One of the most important strategic decisions that a firm can make is not deciding how to use computers to improve business processes but rather understanding what business processes need improvement. However, strategic priorities, and therefore which processes matter most, can shift over time. Technology transformations, Leadership changes, economic cycles, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder pressures, reorganizations and changes to incentive systems can all affect strategic priorities.

With all these factors impinging on which processes matter most, Top Management needs help in determining where — and where not — to focus attention.

Business Process Management

What We Do

At Dishah, We help Organizations determine what business processes are the most important to focus on, how to transform these processes and how improving these processes will help the Organization execute its strategy. This is essential because, considerable time and cost can also be spent improving business processes that have little impact on overall firm performance and revenue.

We have witnessed corporate unwillingness to bend its processes, even when it’s obvious a change needs to be made. For many companies, the thought of changing even one of its processes, much less tearing everything to the ground to rebuild it , is terrifying, not to mention seemingly pointless. They ask, “We’ve been doing it this way for ages, why should we change it now?”

At Dishah, we ourselves have been through this process – and continue to ask ourselves why we do the things we do, and how we can improve, and have learned from both our mistakes and successes. The shift to becoming a process-oriented organization is difficult. It requires a new way of thinking and a new way of working. We help Executive Management understand what they are doing, streamline the confusion associated with change, and help enjoy the rewards of being a process managed company.

Our Approach

We at Dishah, leverage our Process Excellence Model (PEM™) for helping an organization manage a business process across the various organizational silos as well as to reduce costs and improve productivity through newer, more efficient processes. PEM™ is a phased approach which helps Organizations understand and measure the performance of existing processes as a baseline.

We then identify a bench mark for process excellence using a PEM Bench marking Toolkit. We identify the gap between AS IS and To Be processes, help organizations formulate strategies to bridge this difference. We then help implementing these strategies and set up a Governance model, that helps the organizations to sustain this state by continual monitoring and improvements.

Dishah’s PEM™ helps our Clients improve operational efficiency by paying more attention to process management and improvement. We show our clients where performance enhancements and efficiencies can be gained that will translate into cost-savings. Our approach focuses on moving rapidly from the current state to the desired state—the mature environment. In doing so, our clients recognize an increased rate-of-return in the fulfillment of their strategic initiatives.

Our PEM™ solution empowers people to work more efficiently, improves the orchestration of complex processes, and supports business goals with real-time business information, while allowing IT to change its focus from maintenance to driving innovation.
